What are gender pronouns?
A pronoun is a word that refers to either the people talking (I or you) or someone or something that is being talked about (she, it, them, and this).
Gender pronouns specifically refer to people that you are talking about.
Using someone’s correct gender pronouns is a simple way to show interpersonal respect and indicate an inclusive environment. One's gender expression and gender identity may not always align. Just as we want to respect someone by using correct pronunciation of their name, we also want to ensure that we are using the pronouns with which they identify.
Some examples include: She/Her/Hers, He/Him/His, They/Them/Theirs, Ze/Hir/Hirs
